State Team Time Trial, Littleton, Iowa 2008

This was the 2nd year that Bike Tech Racing hosted the State Team Time Trial. Thankfully, race director, John kept the "folder" with all the info from last year(inside joke here!). Here are a couple pictures from the day. I was assigned the follow car for the race. It was cool to see the race and the Amish folks as well as visit with my friend Audrey who came from Ames just to help. Thanks Audrey.

Here is a view of the prerace protein at my house the day before.

If it weren't for Amy and Mike there would be no registration, hence, no race.
Here's hoping they were treated with kindness and respect.

I walked around saying hi to the teams who came from Iowa City, Grinnell, Des Moines, Wisconsin and Minnesota to list a few. There is something comforting and calming during this part of the race.

Pretty quiet in the parking lot.

Alissa organized the DMOS women's cooler.

Rasmussen guys carry their wheels over the gravel to the start.

I heard that the pinner has only poked the pinnee 5 times this season.
It really is a bit of a challenge not to poke a bit of skin.

A rollout of the wheel is required of junior racers.
They can test the gearing to make sure that they
aren't using a gear with too many teeth.
That's how is was explained to me anyway.

Special thanks to our hosts of the Littleton Lounge.
I'm sorry I didn't catch your names.

Last minute instructions were read.

Organization rules this year as far as coolers go.

Bikes to bikes. Sounds a bit like Dr. Suess.

What a great addition to have the tandems race.
Nice to see you Kim.

Awesome team. Last to leave of the 21 teams.

My friend counted 31 buggies.

Going south on Amish Blvd. We had to admit that they
young Amish man looked pretty cool in his aviator sunglasses.

Bikes to You looked exceptionally fast as they flew past me.

First time rider (he runs) had enough of sitting.
Pretty cool, his very first race and its the State TTT.

Replenishing their salt!

Whew doggies the results are in!
(We've been watching Beverly Hillbillies at our house)

Thanks to all at Littleton Lounge.
The sandwiches were wonderful and your drinks were cold!

In the medals. Way to go guys!

"Congratulations guys"

Your mom will love this pictures.

That's All Folks!

It was another great day of racing.
