This beautiful fungi was in my yard. It looks vibrant but it was disintegrating as we were standing there looking at it. Our biology professor neighbor got out his fungi book and told us the name. Of course that went in one ear and out the other. This tree grew a beautiful and large bracket mushroom last year. I guess it wasn't really beautiful but it was impressive.
This group was growing down by Cummings, Iowa. There were 3 bunches. I am not a biologist but I do like the variety in the shapes and colors of fungi. If I see any more I will be taking pictures of them. Best wishes-k
